What School Can I Choose?

  • Schools must enroll students into a full-time program.
  • Schools must meet in a building used primarily as a school.
  • Schools must employ full-time paid staff.
  • The school curriculum must include a majority of core academic content (math, science, English, and history).

Main Page–Contains a menu of all state educational resources available online as well as information for contacting various state offices concerned with education. A sampling of some of the resources available on the site are included below.

Public Schools–Includes contact information for all public school districts in the state, including the superintendent of each, the telephone number and address of the district office, and their web site.

Charter Schools–Provides a directory for charter schools in the state. Many of the schools have websites that you can access from the directory.

Special Education Services–Publishes a “Rules and Regulations” page can help parents understand the requirements for education under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Home Schooling–Contains information and regulations regarding home schooling in Utah.

School Report Cards–Makes scores available for all schools in the state. UPASS evaluates a school’s performance in relation to the Utah State Core Curriculum and State requirements.


The Carson Smith Special Needs Scholarship is a state-funded program that allows students with a disability (including learning disabilities and severe cases of ADHD) to attend the eligible private school of their choice.
